You can rest easy now, Wii enthusiasts! The day is finally here, disc-free functionality for the Nintendo console is, at last upon us. Now streaming for Netflix is possible on the Wii without the requirement of a disc. A new application gives access to a new Netflix channel where Watch Instantly videos are sent directly to users’ TV sets through the Wii.

However, such an app from Netflix was already issued to the PS3 first and the X-Box 360 is still waiting in line for its turn, which doesn’t come until later in the fall. Hey, intrepid Nintendo fans, there’s more good news! If you’re a Netflix subscriber, this app on the Wii is free. So, give those discs a much needed break and enjoy!
