5.1 Entertainment Expands DVD-Audio Catalogue and Introduces Day/Date Release Schedule

Exciting news from 5.1 Entertainment. We can exclusively reveal that the Los Angeles based company, whose labels include Electromatrix, immergent and Silverline, have plans to re-author some of their early music titles as DVD-Audio discs, thereby affording discerning listeners a significantly greater choice of material already widely acclaimed in DVD-Video form.

Classical music fans will appreciate loss-less versions of discs from The London Symphony Orchestra and The London Philharmonic Orchestra, current highlights of which include the ‘Dream Suite’ series of three discs and the ‘Passion…’ series of ‘Secrets & Seductions’, ‘Encounters & Embraces’ and ‘Passions & Pleasure’.

In stark contrast, the immergent label features progressive and contemporary artists, 15mgs, Rambient, Bird, Venice Underground and new immergent signing, Dishwalla.

Dishwalla’s latest album entitled ‘Opaline’, which is due on April 23rd, will also represent another landmark for both 5.1 Entertainment and the DVD-Audio community. Both the Compact Disc and DVD-Audio disc will be released on the same day, continuing their day/date release policy from immergent Records whereby all new titles will be released simultaneously on CD and DVD-Audio discs.

Speaking to High Fidelity Review, Jeff Dean, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Silverline and immergent Records, said: “DVD Audio is growing day by day in terms of affordable hardware and a wide variety of titles. Day and Date releases by successful, current artists like Dishwalla will continue to accelerate this growth.
