As the world turns to new LED backlit TV sets, it is not surprising why research shows a big jump for 2010 and an even bigger one in 2013. For starters, the estimated 1.2 million+ shipments forecasted for 2010 doesn’t surprise anyone at all. As LED backlighting continues to gain more ground, new TV features in 2010 are expected to come out as well and this includes 3D TV.

The research was done by DisplaySearch which even projects a bigger shipment (15.6 million) in 2013. Basing it on the trends befalling us at the moment, this too is not surprising.
