The final specifications of the 128 GB Blu-ray discs has now been published by the Blu-ray Disc Association, setting a new guide for manufacturers for optical drive standards. These new discs will be available in either triple layer 100 GB rewritable or write once discs or 128GB quad layer write once discs.

But along with these new developments creeps the need to find a suitable blu-ray drive that would be compatible with them. So be ready for a new wave of shopping for Blu-ray drives or players once the new blu-ray discs do come out.
