Yamaha YHT-493BL Home Theater System Review-Solid Sound Value

It’s been my experience that, while absolutely no one tops a Bose in terms of sound quality , Yamaha comes pretty close.  Thus, today I’m happy to be talking about the Yamaha YHT-493BL, a home theater system that offers some great sound at a fairly decent price.

The Yamaha YHT-493BL is a six channel surround sound system with four satellite speakers, a center channel speaker, and a subwoofer.  It offers several included surround sound decoders (Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic II, among others), an Apple iPod dock (it’s not included, though), and six hundred total watts of output with an HDMI output, two component video inputs, four stereo audio inputs, one stereo audio output, and a headphone jack.

There’s some solid utility here–plenty of inputs for both new and old components–but this really does nicely in terms of sound quality.  Like I said, nothing beats a Bose in my book, but the Yamaha will definitely do a fine job of making your movies pop.

And the price isn’t too terrible, either; Best Buy wants four hundred bucks for this, and that’s really not bad for a six hundred watt system with six speakers and a receiver.  So if you’re looking for a replacement for your current home theater, consider the Yamaha YHT-493BL as a system that brings plenty of juice for a decent price.
