Vudu has been purchased by Wal-Mart

Vudu has been giving its users instant access to broadband Internet users or those with Internet ready TVs. Wal-Mart, in its spirit of customer service and really wanting to turn a profit has acquired Vudu.

This means that Wally-world will be able to control the Vudu, and their licensing deal with almost every major movie studio as well as dozens of independent and international distributors to offer 16,000 films in 1080p. According to Eduardo Castro-Wright, vice-chairman of Wal-Mart, “the real winner is the customer”. We shall see if this Vudu economics pays off.
