Vizio M550NV Television Review-Great For New Hardware

Our next stop on the list is a little on the obscure side, but you’ll be abundantly glad we stopped regardless. We’re taking a look at the Vizio M550NV today, and it’s a television that may have a hefty price tag, but it will offer up its share of quality to go with it.

The Vizio M550NV is a fifty five inch 1080p LED television that offers a hundred and twenty hertz refresh rate (this reduces blurring, as many televisions work on a sixty hertz cycle), two fifteen watt speakers backed up by SRS TruVolume and SRS TruSurround, your choice of wireless or Ethernet internet access to get access to a vast array of content providers, Bluetooth remote with QWERTY keypad, four HDMI inputs, one component input, one composite input, RF input, PC input, SPDIF Digital Optical Output, Stereo Audio Output and three USB ports.

Of course, I’m somewhat dismayed by the lack of support for older components. That always leaves me dismayed, to see that they expect you to just throw over perfectly good hardware just because you’re getting a new television. That’s not at all right, and frankly, it makes me somewhat ashamed. However, for those of you with newer hardware, you’ll be well taken care of here. And of course, the picture quality is top-notch and the sound quality is too–not hard when you’ve got all that SRS backing up well-powered speakers.

It’s likely going to be tough to justify shelling out the $1496.39 (again, an oddly specific price) that Amazon wants for this, but still–it’s a terrific piece and you’re likely going to love it. At least, I liked it, except for the lack of support for older gear.

If you can live without older hardware then the Vizio M550NV is just what you’re after.
