Ultrasone Inc. has added the only open-backed headphone to its legendary PRO Series, the PRO 2900. The company has for the first time released both a standard single cable version and a balanced double cable version of a pair of headphones.

The PRO Series features 40mm titanium-plated drivers, velvet ear pads and Neutrik connectors for transparent sound. It boasts a classic black design, MU-Metal shielding (ULE technology) to reduce radiation and patented S-Logic Plus technology for reduced sound pressure, allowing users to wear the headphones comfortably for hours. The PRO 2900 also comes with a handy hard-sided carrying case along with one spiral and one straight removable cables and spare speed-switch ear pads.

Both the standard and the balanced Ultrasone PRO 2900 headphones are currently available at $549 and $799, respectively.
