Just about everyone who’s anyone uses Facebook as their primary social network. In fact, with 500 million+ users, the most used social network has gotten such critical acclaim and popularity that it has spawned a major motion pictured appropriately named The Social Network.

While it may seem quite corny (read: boring) basing a movie on the founding of a website, film critics and viewers alike beg to differ with a ‘Certified Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes. So, with such popularity, you’re probably wondering when you can actually buy The Social Network, right? Well, Sony has come forth today to announce that The Social Network will be hitting store shelves as a 2-disc Collector’s Edition (in Blu-ray, naturally) on January 11th, 2011.

Unfortunately, it will be missing the holiday season by a hair but who’s to say a late present ever hurt?
