The London Hi-Fi and Home Entertainment Show Gets Moving!

Over 150 brands that will be represented at the 2005 Hi-Fi and Home Entertainment Show to be held on September 23-25, 2005 at the Renaissance and Park Inn Hotels at Heathrow Airport. In your walls or in your car, from vinyl and DVD-Audio to video to MP3, every aspect of audio and video will be on display, plus there will be some very special features new to the show.

In-Car Emporium

The Wessex Ballroom at the Renaissance Hotel will feature an outstanding display of some of the hottest sound systems on wheels. In-car audio continues to remain one of the most vibrant sectors in the consumer electronics market and the show will have an array of some of the most incredible and radical vehicles in the country. SQ Plus Ltd will display and demo their uber-bling Escalade and at the other end of the size spectrum – Citroen C2 will show off their customized vehicles – some of the most outstanding in all of Europe. The C2 exhibit will include an aftermarket installation of a vehicle that has been completely repainted and customized with a center seat conversion so you can sit in the hot spot for the best sound. And why not? There is a full 5.1 system in the car with the center channel built into the steering wheel!

Extra cash to spare? That will almost be enough to cover the Escalade, with its main system and car controls being run through a Crestron TPS4500, using a ReQuest digital music server for music and Kramer switching system for DVD and Radio. The front dash has a Crestron screen in the center with two 10-inch TV screens in front of both seats and a separate system in the back for the rear passengers. SQ Plus have completely remade the inside of the car to better house its eight Diamond audio amplifiers, four 15in subs, two 8in subs and 34 other speakers. Whew!

Sound Bites

This show also marks the starting point of a very significant anniversary–50 years of Hi-Fi News magazine. Steve Harris and Ken Kessler have teamed up to write Sound Bites, a book celebrating a half-century of high-end hi-fi. This little piece of history will be available to purchase at the event for only Ј14.99 and represents a ‘must have’ for all audiophiles!

The British Audio-Visual Dealers Association (BADA) Theatre and Understanding the Environment!

For 2005, we’ve worked closely with BADA to create a unique feature that benefits industry professionals – retailers and installers. The BADA Theatre will host a range of industry seminars and consumer presentations to help the trade through these uncertain times, and to best go with the convergence flow. And we’ve already confirmed that Living etc Stylist Susie Powell will be advising industry retailers on how to best present high-end home entertainment in the sales environment.

As always, there will be a wide mix of hardware and software, from entry level to the most extreme systems in the audio environment! From Italy to the USA, Japan to Germany, and the very Best of British, the 2005 Hi-Fi and Home Entertainment Show is the finest, most comprehensive hi-fi and home theatre showcase the UK can offer!
