The First YouTube video, posted five years ago

Take a look at the funny video above. It will only take you 18 seconds. Okay, it isn’t really funny at all. In fact, don’t we already know that elephants have large trunks?

Seriously, I’m guessing you aren’t in a hurry to make this video go viral. However, this was the very first video for YouTube. It was done five years ago, and was the beginning of the YouTube phenomenon.

Hey, all those keyboard cats and skateboarding dogs had to start with something. I believe “Video Killed the Radio Star” by a group known as Buggles was MTV’s first video. That song is a classic, but this video is not.

It just goes to show you that great things start small. Jawed Karim, one of YouTube’s co-founders, is on this video, and made billions afterwards. I suppose he is laughing now.
