Cablevision Systems Corp. has announced the addition of high-definition video on demand (HD VOD) content from Starz Entertainment’s Starz On Demand and Encore On Demand to the iO TV VOD lineup. Offering original programming, award-winning documentaries and blockbuster movies, HD VOD content from Starz/Encore is now available free to customers getting Starz On Demand/Encore On Demand across Cablevision’s entire New York metropolitan service area.

With more than 1.6 million customers subscribing to HD service, Cablevision’s HD penetration has exceeded 50 percent of all iO TV households, demonstrating the speedy adoption of this superior TV format. Besides more than 100 channels of high-definition programming available at no additional cost, iO TV features an expanding library of HD video-on-demand titles including top blockbusters and critical favorites, available through the On Demand menu. HD VOD programming from Starz/Encore is accessible at no additional charge to current digital customers with a set-top box subscribing to Starz/Starz On Demand and Encore/Encore on Demand through the On Demand menu on the iO TV user interface.
