Sony Unveils Google TV HDTVs And Blu-ray Players

Sony has unveiled a new set of HDTVs for Google TV, four in all and the models come in 24, 32, 40 and 46-inch versions. They also come with a white set-top box that’s got a built-in Blu-ray player as well. The 24-inch model features CCFL backlit LCD functionality while the other three are packing edge LED lighting but the entire set is equipped with built in Wi-Fi for network access.

Furthermore, you can expect to see preinstalled applications for Netflix, CNBC, Napster and Pandora among others. However, there’s also a custom-made app called the Sony Qriocity VOD player and other apps will be available at the Android Market early next year. Thus, the new Google TV HDTVs and Blu-ray players are due for release this weekend at your local Sony outlet stores or at Best Buy on October 24. The TV models range from $599 to $1,399 in price while the white set-top box will retail for $399.
