Sony OLED TVs to be Phased Out in Japan

It looks like Sony is once again closing another product line with the reported halt in production of OLED TVs in Japan. Sales for Sony Japan’s OLED TV will end once their inventory is wiped out. The good news is that this only affects their Japan base. Sony will still manufacture OLED TVs in North America, Europe and other foreign-based markets.

No reason was given but if you consider the trend, competing against the aggressive LCD TV market can be singled out as a reason. Either that or Sony Japan is planning something else for their TV line.
