Sonic Solutions Unveil DVD-Audio Creator LE

Sonic Solutions announced DVD-Audio Creator™ LE at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas today.

A more affordable version of Sonic Solution’s flagship DVD-Audio authoring software, DVD-Audio Creator™ LE incorporates core technology from Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd and “…provides a focused set of features at an affordable price…” thereby enabling any audio mastering studio or DVD-Video authoring facility to expand their business by adding authoring and mastering for the high-resolution DVD-Audio format. DVD-Audio Creator is targeted for release in May and will be priced at $6,000.

Markus Hintz, Managing Director of MediArte GmbH, Sonic’s European Distributor for DVD-Audio Creator products: “We are very excited that Sonic’s flagship DVD-Audio Creator system is now available in an even more affordable version. DVD-Audio Creator LE offers support for most key features of the DVD-Audio specification, placing the means to create market-ready DVD-Audio titles well within the grasp of any audio, DVD, or multimedia professional.

DVD-Audio Creator LE provides the capability to author all nine groups, 99 tracks per group, sequential and browseable slideshows, CPPM copy protection, and menus for accessing either High-Density Audio™ in Meridian Loss Packing (MLP) or linear PCM formats, compressed Dolby Digital or DTS audio streams and motion MPEG-2 video. The software runs under Windows® 2000 and can be used in conjunction with Scenarist, DVD-Creator or DVD Fusion to provide the ultimate DVD authoring suite. Upgrades to the full version of DVD-Audio Creator are available.

With this announcement comes Sonic Studio LLC, a new division of Sonic Solutions formed in partnership with industry veterans Jeff Wilson and Eric Jorde that will develop and market the SonicStudio HD line of professional audio workstations and related products.

SonicStudio HD workstations feature support for multi-channel sampling rates up to 192kHz, surround sound mixing and an ultra-fast editing interface and can be expanded to include Sonic’s full line of DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD authoring options including OneClick DVD™, DVD-Audio Creator Workstation, and DVD Creator 5.1 Workstation.
