Sharp Announces 64-Inch LCD Display For Demonstration At CEATEC

Today, Sharp revealed their plans to put on a big event at CEATEC. Their featured presentation is the demonstration of a new 64-inch HD LCD display. This prototype is packing a resolution of 4096 by 2160 pixels, which is four times higher than that of regular high-definition displays. So, of course, this new display will be the first of its kind.

Furthermore, Sharp has been very motivated to move forward with this prototype to keep themselves relevant with the movie business since studios are making the transition from firm to digital media. Obviously, that explains the dramatic increase in display resolution as well. Thus, it will be interesting to see the impact this new Sharp display will have on home entertainment for the general consumer in the months or years to come.
