Sanwa Releases Universal 3D Glasses in Japan

3D displays are getting a great deal of buzz but due to the premium price tag mass market adoption has yet to take place. Aside from the price, a major gripe regarding 3D displays is the fact that you need to wear 3D glasses in order to actually view the content. This wouldn’t be too big of a problem aside from the fact that just about every 3DTV manufacturer requires a different set of glasses.

Well, Sanwa has evidently listened to these gripes and have come forward to show off their universal 3D glasses. Priced at $100, these rechargeable 3D glasses will be able to recognize 3D content from virtually any television including those from Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic and Sharp. Unofrtunately, they are only available in Japan but as 3D displays get more popular here in the States they are sure to make the jump.
