Samsung UN40C7000W Television Review-Not Worth The Price

It used to be that I had a problem with most every Samsung that came into my field of vision.  And they had some really unpleasant problems, too–their controls were horrendous, every so often something would go wrong with the sound or the picture…but while the Samsung UN40C7000W looks pretty good on the outside, when you take a closer look at it, you find there’s quite a bit wrong with it.

The Samsung UN40C7000W is a 3D-ready forty inch 1080p LED television that offers internet connectivity (with a separate adapter) for access to Blockbuster Online and YouTube, among others.  It also offers Wide Color Enhancer Plus for improved detail and 240Hz Clear Motion Rate for improved quality in fast motion scenes, two ten watt speakers with Dolby Digital, DTS decoders, and SRS TheaterSound.  Plus there are four HDMI inputs, one component video input, one ethernet port, one PC input, two USB ports, one optical audio output, a game mode and AnyNet Plus.

The Samsung UN40C7000W’s picture is LED beautiful, though the sound is a little on the lower end of the spectrum.  Some ten watt speakers sound pretty nice but the speakers on this set sounded a bit muffled.  There’s plenty of love here for newer hardware, but old components will get the short end of the stick once again.  And the price is a bit out of line for a forty inch television, even in the LED range–Best Buy is asking eighteen hundred dollars for this one, and that’s with a two hundred dollar discount.

You can do a lot better than the Samsung UN40C7000W, despite its 3D ready capability–there’s just too much wrong with this one to recommend it.
