Samsung Releases The WMG160 Wi-Fi Streaming Device

Recently, Samsung announced the upcoming release of a Wi-Fi streaming device called the WMG160. Interestingly enough, this device is an accessory that provides streaming capabilities for the Galaxy S smartphone, HDTV sets with resolutions up to 720p and Wi-Fi-enabled devices that are compatible with DLNA. According to Ubergizmo, the Wi-Fi streaming device is likely to retail for about 84GBP.

Furthermore, specifications of the Samsung WMG160 include SMI, SRT subtitle formats, audio codecs such MP3, AAC, AC3, WMA, Vorbis (OGG), DMR, DMS in DLNA, microSDHC memory card slot and Wi-Fi. In addition to this, the device supports video file formats such as AVI, ASF, MP4, WMV, MPG, TP, 3GP, K3G, SKM and MKV, image files format such as JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF and BMP and document files like Adobe PDF, MS Office, HTML and Text. Finally, it’s packing video codecs such as DivX, XviD, MPEG-4, H.264, WMV9, VC-1, MPEG-2, WMV7/8 as well.
