Samsung PN50C450B1D Television Review-Bargain Basement Plasma

Samsung has often done a lot of things to both impress and horrify me, and sometimes they even manage to do both with just one item.  And that’s what they’ll do today when I talk about the Samsung PN50C450B1D.

The Samsung PN50C450B1D is a fifty inch 720p plasma television that offers two ten watt speakers with SRS TruSurround, three HDMI inputs, a PC input, a USB port, ConnectShare JPEG that allows you to connect thumb drives and digital cameras and display their contents on the television, a high-speed game mode, and AnyNet Plus.

While the sound is not the best I’ve heard–that TruSurround really does help but it can’t get past the wattage limitation imposed on it by the fact that these are ten watt speakers–the picture is surprisingly nice for a 720p television.

The best part here, however, is the price.  It’s not every day you see a plasma television, even a 720p plasma, available for under eight hundred bucks. And you can get this one for, ironically enough, seven hundred and twenty dollars.  But still, it’s a pretty fair television for an excellent price, and if you’re in the market for a new television, the Samsung PN50C450B1D is worth taking a look at.
