Samsung LN40C530 LCD Television Review-Great Entry Level System

Samsung has often given us a lot of exciting LCD televisions to check out–frankly, they’ve given us a lot of exciting televisions period, be they LCD, plasma, or LED–so it’s definitely going to be interesting to go toe to toe with the Samsung LN40C530, a television that will prove Samsung’s case in point in terms of quality.

The Samsung LN40C530 is a forty inch 1080p LCD television that offers ConnectShare Movie to play content directly from cameras or thumb drives, a game mode to reduce blurring in high speed images, the Wide Color Enhancer Pro systems to improve the color presentation, two ten watt speakers backed up by DNSe, three HDMI ports, AnyNet Plus, a USB port, a PC input, and two component inputs.

You can see right off that it’s pretty basic stuff–very simple, not a whole lot of inputs or extras. No streaming, which is always a shame, but since you can hook your PC to it, you’ll be able to handle streaming that way or go with a set-top box. Still though, you’ve got plenty of room for old and new components, and while the picture looks great, I’m not quite so convinced on the sound. I’ve heard much better sound. But hooking this to a home theater system, even a simple out of the box model, should take care of the bulk of your issues with the sound.

And the best part? The folks out at Target want six hundred and forty dollars for one of these, which is a pretty impressive price tag no matter how you slice it.

The Samsung LN40C530 may not be all the television you’re looking for, but if you’re looking for a low-cost, high-value alternative to a lot of what’s on the market right now, you’ll do pretty well right here.
