Roku players are doing Rdio streaming now

February 25, in Media Centre

We have previously reported that the Roku will officially have Amazon Prime and read off USB drives. Now, it will get Rdio as well.

For those who don’t know what Rdio is, it is a paid music subscription service with a social networking aspect. Users can find out what music their friends are listening to, and create and share playlists with each other.

All that is required for the Rdio/Roku user is to use the remote to select and play music. You can manage your queue on the service on a web browser, and it can be manged from a smartphone too.

Of course, you have to pay $10 a month for a subscription, but a $5 version offers playback on a computer. You can try out the service for a week.
