Quickflix Survey

Movie lovers are settling in to watch their favourite movies at home and are avoiding going out according to a new Quickflix survey. This survey of over 1000 people and their movie viewing habits during the last month showed that over a half of all respondents agreed or strongly agreed that they watched movies at home because going to the cinema was too expensive. A quarter of all respondents expressed the reason they watched movies at home was not because they preferred to stay in but rather it was due to the economic crisis.

Ben Hammond, Director of Marketing at the online DVD rental company Quickflix said the results indicated a trend towards in-home entertainment as a reaction to the economic downturn. However, respondents also said they liked the social aspect of watching movies at home by having family and friends around and more than half said they enjoyed watching movies from the comfort of their own home.
