Plex wants to 1-Up both Amazon and Apple TV

It seems like everyone has a plan with bringing content to your TV. After all, Apple has that new Apple TV thing going on, and Amazon has that 99-cent TV show episodes.

Now, Plex is announcing a partnership with LG that will integrate their software into its 2011 Netcast HDTVs and Blu-ray players.

Plex enables the same sort of functionality as those smart little boxes mentioned above, letting you serve content from a machine running OS X and push it to your TV or to a mobile device (iPhone and iPad right now, Android coming). Plex also supports all the major online streamers, like Netflix, Hulu, and even the BBC iPlayer.

There is no support of the PC for this so far, but why not?
