PlayOn Gets Updates, Makes Way to iPad

September 14, in streaming

The iPad is one of the best ways to consume content on the go. Thankfully, the PlayOn app has just gotten updated which will allow users to stream media over both WiFi and 3G. This means content from Hulu, Comedy Central, Netflix, MTV and more will be made available for streaming.

Priced at $39.99 for 1 year, and $19.99 per year after that, PlayOn will take content normally available only via Flash player and stream it to your iPad or iPhone in HTML5.

Of course, most content that PlayOn is good for will most likely get an HTML5 update soon enough so you may want to think twice before.
