Philips 40PFL7705D/F7 LED Television Review-May Not Be Worth The Outlay

Another LED television comes our way with a model from Philips. I’m personally rather fond of Philips, as I’ve been using their products for the last few years with great results, and a great deal of satisfaction in their durability and longevity to boot. That’s why I’m excited to talk about the Philips 40PFL7705D/F7, a nice looking piece of hardware that may be a bit on the expensive side, but still worth considering.

The Philips 40PFL7705D/F7 is a forty inch 1080p LED television that offers up a 120 Hz refresh rate, along with Philips’ Perfect Pixel HD image processing, four five watt speakers with SRS TruSurround, internet access for the various streaming service out there, four HDMI ports, one component input, one PC input, a USB port and a digital audio output.

There’s not a whole lot to this one, but it does have some interesting things going for it. For instance, normally I hear sound out of two ten watt speakers, and here we’re dealing with four five watts, which has an interesting if unclear unique quality to it. It’s still good, but it’s unusual. And of course the picture is about as nice as you could ask for a 1080p LED with a 120 Hz refresh rate to cut down on the blurring. It’s a nice overall system, and one that’s well worth considering. Plus, on more of a personal note, as someone who’s been watching the same Philips television for the last five years, bought as an open box item at a Best Buy sale, these things have incredible longevity.

But you may be scared off by the price–the folks out at Amazon want fully $1180 for one of these, and that’s no small price. You’ll be getting a pretty nice system here, but it’s still got a fairly hefty price tag to walk in.

The Philips 40PFL7705D/F7 is a good quality piece, and should make a nice addition to your home theater system. But considering the investment you’ll need to make, you’re going to want to have a look at this one yourself.
