PentaTone Classics Plans 26 More SACDs in 2003

PentaTone Classics has announced that they plan to release 26 more SACDs between now and the end of the year. The upcoming SACDs will be a mixture of new, original PentaTone Classics recordings and RQRs (Remastered Quadro Recordings) which are sourced from Mutlichannel Recordings made by Philips Classics in the 1970′s (see our earlier stories on the PentaTone RQR series).

As with previous PentaTone Classics releases, these new SACDs will initially appear in PentaTone’s home base in the Netherlands and then later in the balance of Europe. The SACDs will also be released in the U.S. market through PentaTone’s new distribution deal with Telarc International.

Here’s a rundown of the upcoming PentaTone Classics SACD releases (both new recordings and RQR reissues) with the corresponding initial release date for the Netherlands and Europe:
