Panasonic TC-P42S2 Television Review-Terrific Value

We’ve got another great Panasonic to have a look at today, and you’ll be pretty surprised by this one for a lot of reasons.  Today we’re tackling the TC-P42S2, a Panasonic Viera that offers a lot of value in one solid package.

The Panasonic TC-P42S2 is a forty two inch 1080p plasma television that offers Deep Color and x.v.Color technologies to improve picture quality, two ten watt speakers, three HDMI inputs, two composite video inputs, four audio inputs, two component video inputs, one optical digital output, Viera Link, Viera Tools, a game mode to reduce blurring in high-speed images, Secure Digital card slot (with Viera Image Viewer) and motion pattern noise reduction.

Like I said, there’s a lot to like here.  If you’ve got newer components, you’ll be well served here by three HDMI ports.  Older components will be reasonably pleased with two composite and two component ports, and those with a mix will be all the more satisfied by having the best of both worlds. Plus, having a card slot improves the value of things all the more.  That 1080p picture looks terrific, and the ten watt speakers sound nice, though not quite as nice as full twenty watt speakers would, or speakers augmented with TruSurround, which seems to add almost as much quality as the extra ten watts of power.

But the best part about this system is its incredible price.  Best Buy is offering this, right now, this second, for eight hundred and ten bucks.  It’s a big screen, with plenty of options and good quality playback, for just over eight hundred bucks.  Sounds pretty good to me, and it probably should to you.

Thus, the Panasonic TC-P42S2 is a terrific value and one you should consider if you’re in the market for a new television.
