High Fidelity Review News Feeds:
Add High-Resolution Stories to Your Site
|
|
 |
| |
Deliver
dynamic, up-to-date high-resolution audio news on your
own web site by adding a High Fidelity Review news
feed.
High Fidelity Review is recognised as the leading source of DVD-Audio and
SACD news, syndicated to major organisations the world over, and now you
too can carry news headlines and summaries to enhance your own site with
the simple addition of a few lines of JavaScript code.
The look and 'feel' of High Fidelity Review's news feeds can be customised
to match the design of any site and the content controlled so that the
news delivered is best suited to your target audience, either DVD-Audio,
SACD or mixture of both.
Our news feeds are a free service with the intention of introducing the
latest high-resolution developments to a wider audience, perfect for manufacturers,
software producers and enthusiast web sites alike. No manual page updates
are required, when our news is updated, so is yours.
Adding a newsfeed to your own site is a two step process:
| 1. |
Paste
the following code between the <head> and </head> tags
of your page (alternatively, it can be called
as a separate .js file). |
|
<script
type="text/javascript">
<!--
hfr_news_width = "300";
hfr_news_target = "_top";
hfr_headline_font = "Verdana, Arial, Helvetica";
hfr_headline_size = "1";
hfr_headline_color = "#0000CC";
hfr_text_font = "Verdana, Arial, Helvetica";
hfr_text_size = "1";
hfr_text_color = "#000000";
//-->
</script> |
|
The
parameters specified here can be adapted to
suit the design of your own site, just remember
to use valid font names, sizes and colours. |
|
hfr_news_target controls
the window in which the news story opens. "_top" opens
the story in the same browser window, change
this to "_blank" if
you want the news to open in a new window,
or to the name of a frame on your own site. |
| 2. |
Paste
one (or more) of the following lines of code
into the page in the position where you want
the news headlines to appear. The lines differ
slightly depending on the type of news you
wish to display. |
|
For
DVD-Audio news: |

the (optional) form below, we'll be able to use the information you provide
to altert you to any code changes and link back to your site.
Solutions
for common JavaScript problems:
1) If you are seeing
a JavaScript error, then the chances are that the first
block of code is missing, incorrectly formatted or in the wrong place within
your page. Make sure each line has a value and ends with a semicolon. Make sure
there are no unwanted carriage returns within the code; consult the instructional
text file to be sure (browsers wrap text to fit it on-screen).
2) If the news doesn't display on a page make sure that the second part of the
code is correct, especially the URL of the JavaScript file upon the High Fidelity
Review server. Remember that this file must remain on the HFR machine for your
news feed to be updated automatically. If the news still isn't displayed and
no errors are apparent, then ensure that JavaScript is enabled within your browser. |
