New Sony SACDs by Joe Satriani and NY Philharmonic |

The newest SACD discs from Sony Music are "Strange Beautiful Music" by Joe Satriani and "Prokofiev: Alexander Nevsky & Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition" by Thomas Schippers conducting the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Both SACDs are Single Layer Multichannel/Stereo SACD releases which are only playable on SACD equipment. Here's further information about these new SACD releases.

Single Layer Multichannel/Stereo SACD
Rock Guitarist Joe Satriani has sold millions of records over the past several years. Strange Beautiful Music is his latest album which features Satriani, his band and three guest musicians including guitarist Robert Fripp. It was released on Stereo CD on June 25th and is now available on a Multichannel/Stereo SACD from Epic Records.
For this Multichannel SACD, a 5.1 surround mix was created by percussionist and co-producer John Cuniberti and Leff Lefferts.
The SACD was mastered by Stephen Marcussen at Marcussen Mastering Studios and Authored for SACD by Woody Pornpitaksuk.

The latest Multichannel/Stereo SACD from Sony Music features Thomas Schippers conducting the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
The album includes selections from two classical compositions: Prokofiev's Alexander Nevsky Cantata, Op.78 (1938) and Mussorgsky's Pictures At An Exhibition (1874).
