Release Date Set for George Harrison Surround SACD |
|
Dark Horse Records, the record label started by George Harrison of the Beatles, is planning to release their first 5.1 Surround Sound Super Audio CD release on March 15th in Europe and Japan. As a hybrid SACD, it will feature SACD Surround Sound, SACD Stereo and CD Stereo versions of the music on the album. Distribution will be handled by EMI.
Live in Japan
The initial release will be a 2-disc set entitled "Live in Japan". It features live performances of 19 of Harrison's hits as both a solo artist and as a member of the Beatles. The concert from 1991 also features several guest musicians including Eric Clapton and Andy Fairweather Low.
Preorders Being Taken
The HMV Japan, Amazon.co.uk and Euphoric Sounds (U.K.) web sites that sell Super Audio CDs are already offering the 2 disc set for preorder. Euphoric Sounds web site also reports that a second Harrison SACD featuring his greatest hits may also be coming later in 2004.
