The Japanese group Kodo has teamed with producer Mickey Hart, member of the legendary ‘Grateful Dead’ and an authority on world percussion for the new album “Mondo Head”. Mondo Head was released on SACD in Japan in March and now comes to the US market on a Multichannel + Stereo SACD disc this week.
The album showcases improvisational recordings between Kodo and various musical luminaries including Mickey Hart (USA), Airto Moreira (Brazil), Giovanni Hidalgo (Puerto Rico), Zakir Hussain (India), Michael Hinton (USA), Charlie Musselwhite (USA), Arto Tuncboyaciyan (Turkey), Bobi Cespedes (Cuba), Gyuto Tantric Choir (Tibet), Linda Tillery (USA), Rhonda Benin (USA), Joey Blake (USA), Nengue Hernandez (Cuba), Greg Ellis (USA) and Azam Ali (Iran).
