Bat Out of Hell
Meatloaf
(Epic ES 62171)
Multichannel/Stereo SACD

Composer Jim Steinman wrote the songs featured on Bat Out of Hell for an off-Broadway rock opera entitled “Neverland”. While the show never made it to the off-Broadway stage, well known artist/producer Todd Rundgren teamed up with Steinman and Meatloaf to produce this well known album. Bat Out of Hell spent 19 months on the Billboard LP Chart and sold over 13 Million copies in the US alone. It features three hit singles: “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad,” “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” and “You Took The Words Right Out of My Mouth”.

Bat Out of Hell was originally released as a Stereo Only SACD (Epic ES 34974) and is now being re-released with a new 5.1 Multichannel mix by Frank Filipetti from the original multitrack master tapes. The only exceptions are the songs “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” (features some new overdubs in the multichannel SACD mix) and “Heaven Can Wait” (the multitrack master for this song could not be found so the 5.1 mix on the SACD was created by Mastering Engineer Ted Jensen from the original 2-track mix tape).
