NBC Live brings a whole new dimension of network content to the iPad

Some of you might remember a show known as MyGeneration, which only lasted two episodes on ABC. I have no idea what the show was about, but it had an iPad App that went along with it that took audio cues from the show and was very interactive TV.

NBC is hoping that this pairing of TV with Apps will work with NBC Live. As the shows from the Peacock network play, fans can use the NBC Live iPad App to interact with fans, vote for competition shows, and take part in polls, trivia, insider commentary, and character quotes that are ran while the show is broadcasting.

So far, there are only two shows from the network that use this service, and they are The Office and The Biggest Loser. I’m sure that more are on their way.

This is clearly what needs to happen to television, as most people are on their laptops or tablet PCs while they watch their favorite programs anyway. I’m sure NBC Live will be joined by CBS Live and ABC Live, or whatever the other networks will call it.
