Mitsubishi LT40164POLKKIT Television Review-Sound Power

Today we’ve got a new LED television to look at, and it’s going to be something to see because it comes from the good folks out at Mitsubishi. We’re talking here about the Mitsubishi LT40164POLKKIT, and it’s got some extra muscle that’ll put a serious shine on your home theater system.

The Mitsubishi LT40164POLKKIT is a forty inch 1080p LED television that offers Internet connectivity for access to a huge array of online content, both Deep Color and x.v.Color technologies for the best picture, EdgeEnhance for better edge clarity, the DeepField Imager to enhance dark areas, a variety of video modes, a  Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound processor with sixteen two watt speakers and a center channel mode, auto volume leveler (keeps the audio at a constant level), Bluetooth capability to stream audio, two component / composite combined video inputs, one center-channel input, four HDMI inputs, one stereo audio output, one variable subwoofer output, one optical digital audio output, one USB port, a Polk Audio 8″ wireless subwoofer, and a down-firing J-port.

The picture here is at least fair, if a bit small compared to some, but the real glory here is in the sound, hence the addition of “Polk kit” to the name of the television. And perhaps the best part of the whole thing is how well it plays with both old and new components (while HDMI is well represented here, there’s some room here for your older stuff too, with some component / composite ports, and that’s a welcome sight).

The price tag is pretty high here, but not out of line for a fairly large LED television at seventeen hundred bucks out at Best Buy.

The Mitsubishi LT40164POLKKIT will blow your mind if you see it, and yet at the same time provides a value on par with some of the very best.
