Micro Helicopters Create Gigantic 3D Display

February 18, in 3d

It has taken two Laboratoies, MIT’s SENSEable City Lab and Aerospace Robotics and Embedded Systems Lab to figue this one out. To Create gigantic free form three dimensional displays out of individual “smart pixels” made up of swarms of micro helicopters carrying LEDs, into an open space.

It’s comparably inexpensive however the results are outstanding. The Flyfire canvas can transform itself from one shape to another or morph a two-dimensional photographic image into an articulated shape. Ths is only the start to explore the unlimited possibilities of this unique free form display.
