LG G-Slate Android Honeycomb Tablet Gets Announced – Includes 3D Display

If you’ve been following the mobile gadget world at all you’ll probably know that tablets are arguably the next big thing. Ushered in by the iPad, hardware manufacturers across the board have been debuting their own competitiors looking to get a piece of the pie. Unfortunately, not much innovation has been brought to the table since the release of the iPad as just about every tablet features the same basic formula.

Luckily, LG is looking to change all of that with a tablet that may very well appeal to some of you home theater nuts as well dubbed the G-Slate powered by Google’s Android Honeycomb. Pictured above, the biggest selling point of the G-Slate is its 8.9-inch 3D display (unfortunately you’ll need glasses for this one). Past that we’ve got a 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 32GB of built-in storage, and dual 5 megapixel rear facing cameras capable of capturing full HD 1080p 3D video. You will also be able to output that content (or any other content on the device) through the built-in HDMI port in all of its 1080p glory.

Sounds pretty amazing to me. No word on how much it will cost but LG says it will be out sometime in March.
