LG 42LB5DC first Full HD 1080p LCD at HITEC2008

LG is exhibiting its first full HD television, the LG 42LB5DC at HITEC 2008. This television promises to deliver an exceptional picture quality and clarity with MPEG-04 H.264 decoding technology. The use of this technology has made the new LG 42LB5DC compatible with more than 150 national HD channels, and 1,500 local broadcasts HD and digital channels which are being launched by DIRECTV.

Certain features of the 42LB5DC include:

  • XD Engine® technology, allowing low-resolution analog signals to be transformed to near HD levels
  • Viewing angle of up to 178 degrees
  • In Plane Switching® (IPS) for automatically reducing the distortion and blurring
  • Built-in pay-per-view capabilities
