LCD TV Sets Not In Great Demand For The U.S.

According to Ubergizmo, recent inventory for LCD TVs in North America show that demand is pretty low in the second quarter. As a result, manufacturers have been lowering their sales forecasts for the third quarter and shipments are expected to drop by 10-20%. Furthermore, DigiTimes reports that there is currently a two to three week pileup of inventory for LCD TVs and orders for manufacturing facilities have dropped from first-tier vendors such as Philips, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics.

In addition to this, suppliers to Amtran Technology, who produces Vizio TVs, have said that the company just reduced its usual order volume for parts by half. Nonetheless, shipments are expected to return to regular volume by the second half of August or next month in September.
