You know how when the holidays roll around, there is always that “must-have” item that is always in short supply? Remember several years ago, when it was the Nintendo 64? Then it was the Playstation 2, and then the Wii. Usually, it is video game related, and it feels like the shortage was planned to increase demand.

I believe that this year it is the Microsoft Kinect. According to Microsoft’s Xbox manager in the UK and Ireland, any shortage of Kinect is not planned. Considering that the goal is to sell 5 million of these units by the end of this year, there won’t be any planned shortage any time soon.
