Kerchoonz.com has brought out a new product – the K-box. It’s an iPhone-sized device which uses “gel audio technology” to turn any surface that it’s set on into a speaker by making whatever surface it touches vibrate and create the sweet noise.

The manufacturers claim that the bass sound produced by the device is “guaranteed to deafen your neighbours”. Actually, it delivers a somewhat bottom heavy frequency response of 40Hz – 20KHz, which isn’t monumental, but, then again, it does only cost ?39.99. Battery life is stated as 20 hours and it recharges thru a USB. It is probably not for serious audiophiles but it sounds fun to try nonetheless.
