Sonys New Blu-ray Writer Ships In October

Sony Optiarc is poised to ship their latest internal Blu-ray writer for the general consumer population. This 5.35 inch device is called the BWU-500S. It’s packing an 8MB of buffer memory, a SATA interface and provides write speeds of 12x for BD-R, 8x for BD-R DL, 2x for BD-RE, 16x for DVD-R/+R, 12x for DVD-RAM, 8x for DVD-R/+R DL and DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-RW, 48x for CD-R and 24x for CD-RW. read more…
