Harmon Kardon BDS 400 and BDS 800

April 5, in Speakers

We have reported on Harmon Kardon products before, such as the GHS-01 Gaming Headphones and the SB 16 Soundbar for a home theater. Now Harmon Kardon has the BDS 400 and the BDS 800.

The BDS 400 has two front speakers and a subwoofer with 2.1 channel sound. It also has a Dolby Virtual Speaker for the surround -sound experience of movies and music, without losing any original quality.

The BDS 800 has a true surround sound experience with four voice-matched satellites, center channel speaker, subwoofer, and a BDS 5 SO integrated receiver. Think of it as a 5.1 channel system with 360-degree sound.

Both models have a “powerful receiver” that is integrated with a Blu-ray drive, CD player, and DVD drive, not to mention an FM tuner. It also has an intutive on screen menu system and a remote contol that can be easily programmed. The Harmon Kardon BDS 400 will sell for $1,499, and the BDS 800 will sell for $999. I don’t have a release date for these as yet.
