Green House GH-USD16K is powered on USB alone

This is a display made by Japanese accessory maker Green House, the GH-USD16K to be exact.

Not only does it have a 15.6 pinch LCD screen, but it also has the bragging rights of only 5W power consumption, which means that it doesn’t need to be plugged into the wall, only a USB port.

Other specs of the unit include 1,366 x 768 resolution, 400:1 contrast ratio, 220cd/m2 brightness, and six devices can be connect to a single machine. As for size, it is at 377.7 x 141.8 x 287.8 mm and weighs in at 1.2kg.

Green House will be selling the GH-USD16K on the website in Japan for about $215. Is this the beginning of USB only displays? I would certainly hope so, we could use a little less energy power consumption.
