Many different companies are doing what they can to merge the gap between the computer and television. One of the ways Google is looking to do this is with their Google TV software suite. If you’re not familiar with this platform it allows consumers to browse the web, search for content and stream video from services such as Netflix and YouTube on their television with nothing more than a set-top box. To many matters even better some companies have pre-baked Google TV into their television offerings eliminating the need for a set-top box.

However, while consumers in the United States have been enjoying the benefits of Google TV for quite some time the same can not be said for those in the UK. Luckily, it was just recently made known that Google will be bringing the Google TV platform to the UK within the next 6 months. News comes to us from various sources who say that former Google CEO will take center stage at the Edinburgh Television Festival to announce such plans.
