Many of you are probably familiar with Gefen products, and they are coming out with companion products for matrix switching systems using HDMI.

The 4X CAT-06 Extender is a single rack-mounted extender which is designed to be combined with any Gefen 4 x 4 matrix product.

The 8X CAT-06 Extender for the HDMI “enables all eight connected outputs to be extended up to 200 feet from sources using one CAT-06 cable per display”.

In all honesty, I’m really not the best person to report on this. Clearly, there must be some person who is really frothing over this information, and others who couldn’t care less. For the serious home theater owner, this last post was for you.
