Are you ready for the next big thing in video rental? How about Flix on Stix? The name alone is catchy enough to make me want to write a check right now.

Flix on Stix is a lot like Redbox, except instead of getting the DVD or Blu-ray, you download it on a thumb drive, or stick. You can see on the video the rental rates of $1, $2, $3 and $4 for 3, 6, 9 and 12 days, respectively.

Of course, this leaves questions of finding a thumbdrive that can hold enough GB for your favorite flick or TV episode, and I can only assume the rented digital files “expires” somehow. Wasn’t Blockbuster wanting to experiment with SD cards?
