I suppose that we should have seen this coming, but Disney is planning on converting many of its older films into Blu-ray 3D format.

I suppose that they had a chance to try it out for A Christmas Carol and Alice and Wonderland, and I would imagine that the numbers looked good enough to try out on others.

The movies that will be remastered in Blu-ray include: Bolt, Meet the Robinsons, G-Force, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and many more.

I suppose that some of these films were probably released in 3-D before, like G-Force, but the 2-D films like the Lion King and Beauty and the Beast come to me as a shock. I’m surprised that Disney didn’t do full theatrical re-releases on those. I wonder how easy it is to convert these things.
