Cox is about to get a whole lot more serious with their television offerings recently announcing thtat they will be rolling out the Plus Packagee in Q2 of this year. Unfortunately, it’s only in select areas but Cox says that their entire consumer base should get the service but the end of the year.

Anyways the Plus Package will see the introduction of several things namely a Cisco 8642 HD/DVR Whole Home DVR package with 500GB of storage and a plethora of 1642 HD receivers for your home. But that’s not the best part, the best part is most likely the Trio program guide which makes it simple to find the shows you want quickly and easily. It does this by splitting the screen into three panes; one for the channels, one for the shows and one for the details. This new program guide has some nifty features like the ability to find content that you may like based on a show’s meta data.

So, like I said, this service will be rolled out to select Cox subscribers in Q2 of this year with the rest of you getting it by year’s end.
