AT&T offers new U-verse packages

I don’t know about you guys but I know that an AT&T salesperson has come to my house more than once trying to sway me away from my beloved Optimum Triple Play package and onto one of their U-verse packages. Sure, it seemed great but reports of slow Internet kept me away from making the switch.

Well, if said salesperson had given me the option for these newly announced packages, the outcome may have been different. Below are two of the latest U-verse plans offered from AT&T:

AT&T U-verse Choice Plus: Starts at $172 a month for U-verse TV U300 with Total Home DVR capability; U-verse High Speed Internet Elite (up to 6 Mbps downstream); AT&T Nation 450 wireless voice with unlimited messaging; and unlimited nationwide home phone calling with U-verse Voice Unlimited. AT&T claims the bundle saves users up to $540 per year over other AT&T bundle or standalone options.

AT&T U-Verse Choice Premium: Starts at $192 a month and includes U-verse TV U450 with Total Home DVR capability and HD service, U-verse High Speed Internet Max (up to 12 Mbps downstream); AT&T Nation 450 wireless voice with unlimited messaging; and unlimited nationwide home phone calling. AT&T claims the bundle saves users up to $720 per year over other AT&T bundle or standalone options.

$192 a month may seem like a lot but for a 12Mbps Internet connection with all of the other bells and whistles they’ve thrown in there would have definitely had me sold.
